Chris Aldrich has a Chair in Process Systems Engineering in the Western Australian School of Mines at Curtin University. He holds positions as Honorary Professor at The University of Queensland and as Extraordinary Professor at Stellenbosch University in South Africa, and is a Fellow of the South African Academy of Engineering, as well as of the Australasian Institute for Mining and Metallurgy.
In addition, he is Chair of the International Federation for Automatic Control’s Technical Committee in Mining, Minerals and Metal Processing and serves among other on the editorial boards of Control Engineering Practice, Minerals Engineering and the International Journal of Mining, Minerals and Metals.
His core expertise is in artificial intelligence and process automation in the mining and mineral process industries. His current research interests include the development and application of deep learning methods in mining and metallurgical process systems, multivariate image analysis, nonlinear signal processing and advanced modelling and control.
